Why record a work agreement?

ProofReg records the agreed version of your work agreement on the XRP Ledger, with an independent timestamp.

Work often starts on a spoken or quickly typed agreement: planning, price, what is and is not included. If it goes differently than expected — extra work, delays, a hand-over point the client remembers differently — it comes down to what was agreed. Record that the moment it is clear, and you have a shared reference later instead of two memories.

You put the agreement in a file (an email, PDF or photo of the notes) and record its fingerprint. Only those 64 characters go to the ledger; the file stays on your own computer.

When does it matter?

ProofReg helps at any moment where it might later become unclear what was exactly agreed.

Agreed verbally

Put the agreement in a file and record it — 'what was agreed' is no longer a memory but a verifiable fact.

Extra work looming

Record the base agreement, so later it is clear what is extra and what was already included.

Hand-over

Record the hand-over points, so it is clear afterwards what you settle on.

Long-running job

With phases and changes, later it counts which version was the basis.

How do you record a work agreement?

ProofReg records your work agreement in three steps: put it in a file, record the moment, and verify it later.

01

Put the agreement in a file

An email, PDF or photo of the notes — anything works. Your browser calculates the fingerprint locally; nothing is uploaded.

02

Record the moment

The fingerprint goes onto the public XRP Ledger with a timestamp. With Duo the other party independently confirms the same version.

03

Keep the certificate

You receive a certificate id and verification link. Anyone can later check that this agreement existed then.

Why Duo is especially strong here

ProofReg Duo lets both parties record the same work agreement independently, and completes only on an exact match.

A work agreement has two parties, and that is exactly where the dispute arises. With Duo, you and the client each record your own copy; only when both fingerprints match exactly is Duo complete. That fixes that you both held the same agreement — not because one trusts the other, but precisely so that trust is not needed.

ProofReg Duo does not prove you agreed on everything; it proves you both held the same version of the agreement. That is exactly the point it later comes down to.

Certificate included

And the proof itself? Also recorded — free.

ProofReg automatically creates a certificate with every registration and anchors that certificate itself on the XRP Ledger too, at no extra cost.

You receive the certificate by email. The certificate can carry the email address it was sent to; because it is delivered by email, whoever holds it had access to that mailbox at that moment — so the proof is tied to an email address, not to a verified identity.

Because the certificate itself is on the ledger, no one can undetectably alter or backdate it afterwards — not even us. So even your proof has a proof, which anyone can verify without ProofReg.

What ProofReg does and does not prove

Does

  • ProofReg proves that this exact SHA-256 fingerprint existed on the XRP Ledger before a certain time.
  • The ledger transaction, certificate id, hash and ledger timestamp are public and verifiable without an account.
  • Optionally, ProofReg records a public label and registrant name chosen by you.

Does not

  • Who created the document or who holds rights to it.
  • Whether the content behind the fingerprint is formally valid.
  • Whether a self-entered registrant name was independently checked.
  • What is inside the file — ProofReg does not see the file.

Frequently asked questions

What is ProofReg Duo?

ProofReg Duo lets two parties each record the same document independently. Only when both fingerprints match exactly does the mutual registration complete. It proves you both held the same version, not that you agreed.

What does ProofReg record?

ProofReg records that this exact SHA-256 fingerprint, with the label and registrant you entered, existed on the XRP Ledger before the recorded ledger timestamp. That is independent and publicly verifiable, without sharing the document.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Your browser calculates the SHA-256 fingerprint locally. Only those 64 characters, plus an optional label or registrant you choose, are recorded. The file never leaves your computer.

What does a registration cost?

A registration costs from €1, paid with credits. Verifying a certificate is always free and account-free.

Can anyone verify the certificate without ProofReg?

Yes. A ProofReg certificate states the fixed anchoring account, the certificate id and the issue date. With those, it can be verified in a few steps on any public XRP Ledger explorer, without ProofReg.

What if the client says something was not agreed?

Record the work agreement with Duo: both parties independently register the same version. Later it is verifiably fixed what was agreed, without it being your word against theirs.

Does this work for a verbal agreement too?

Yes, provided you first put the agreement in a file — an email, PDF or photo of the notes. ProofReg records the fingerprint of that file; the spoken agreement itself is not something ProofReg records.
