ProofReg records which version existed. You keep your file; only the fingerprint goes to the ledger.
ProofReg is a proof-of-existence registry on the XRP Ledger: you record a file's fingerprint, with an independent timestamp.
You calculate the SHA-256 fingerprint locally — in your own browser: a string of 64 characters that belongs to that one file. Only that string is registered on the public XRP Ledger, together with the ledger timestamp. The file itself stays on your computer.
Later you can show that exactly that file already existed at that moment. Change one character and the fingerprint no longer matches — which is the strength: the proof holds for exactly this version, and no other.

Your browser calculates the SHA-256 fingerprint locally. The file is not sent or stored; you see the 64 characters at once.
The fingerprint is registered as a transaction on the public XRP Ledger, with a ledger timestamp. Optionally you add a label or registrant name.
You receive a certificate id and a public verification link. Anyone can verify the registration, without an account.

A quote often changes after it is sent. Record the version you sent, and it is beyond doubt which price and terms you offered — no one can fall back on a different reading.
What is offered to you is worth recording too. Register the quote or price commitment you received, and later it is clear which offer you held at that moment.
An order note lists item, quantity, price and delivery date. Record it at confirmation, so there is no later dispute about what was exactly ordered and promised.
A work order records what was carried out. Register it with date and description, and you have a verifiable trail of the work as it stood at hand-over.
Spoken agreements are easily retold differently. Record the work agreement before the job starts — planning, price, hand-over points — and both parties share one reference to fall back on.
An assignment is often confirmed by email. Register the confirmed version, and it is fixed which assignment was accepted and on what terms.
Extra work is the biggest source of dispute. Record the extra work and its price agreement the moment you agree them, and you avoid trouble over the final invoice.
Not every deal needs a lawyer. Record a small agreement with Duo, and both parties independently confirm the same version — lighter than a contract, yet verifiable.
A contract often has several versions. Record the version that applies, and later it is clear which text you both held — without having to share the contents.
A design goes through many revisions. Record the approved version, and it is fixed which design or print proof was signed off at that moment.
An idea is often shared early. Record your concept before you pitch or share it, and you have dateable proof that your version existed at that moment.
Everything inside a file counts toward the fingerprint — including EXIF and metadata. Record a photo or recording, and it is demonstrable that exactly this image existed at that moment.
ProofReg Duo lets two parties record the same version independently, and completes the registration only on an exact match.
Contracts used to exist in duplicate: one copy for each party. ProofReg Duo is the digital duplicate. You record your copy, the other party independently records theirs — and only when both fingerprints match exactly is Duo complete.
ProofReg Duo does not prove you agreed; it proves you both held the same version. Names and email addresses never go on the ledger — they appear only in the certificate, where they are needed.

Only the 64 characters of the fingerprint are recorded. Adding a label or registrant name is optional and only becomes public if you tick that yourself.

Open the Verify page, enter the certificate id or recalculate the fingerprint from exactly the same file. If the fingerprint matches, it is confirmed that this file belongs to that registration.
The certificate states the fixed anchoring account, the certificate id and the issue date. With those you can also find the registration directly on a public XRP Ledger explorer. Verification keeps working as long as the XRP Ledger exists.
ProofReg charges per registration with credits, from €1; verifying a certificate is free.
You buy credits in the shop and use them whenever you record something. For Duo, each party records their own copy. Verifying a certificate costs nothing and needs no account.
ProofReg records that this exact SHA-256 fingerprint, with the label and registrant you entered, existed on the XRP Ledger before the recorded ledger timestamp. That is independent and publicly verifiable, without sharing the document.

If the file changes by even one character, the SHA-256 fingerprint changes completely. You then register with ProofReg again; the earlier registration still holds for the earlier version.
Yes. ProofReg does not store your file. Keep the original yourself — without that exact file you cannot recalculate the same fingerprint.
ProofReg Duo lets two parties each record the same document independently. Only when both fingerprints match exactly does the mutual registration complete. It proves you both held the same version, not that you agreed.
A registration costs from €1, paid with credits. Verifying a certificate is always free and account-free.
What you register and what you claim about it is your responsibility. ProofReg does not see your file's content and does not check whether an entered name is correct or whether you are the creator or rightsholder. A registration proves your version existed at a certain moment — not that no one recorded something earlier.
No. ProofReg is not a notarial service and does not establish copyright or a patent. ProofReg dates the existence of a fingerprint on the public ledger. It provides proof of existence-on-a-date — often exactly what you need before you share, submit or publish something.
Publishing is off by default. The hash and timestamp are enough for the proof. Label and registrant become public only if you tick that yourself.
