What the evidence shows

A small change to the file creates a different fingerprint. Only the unchanged original produces exactly the same SHA-256 hash later.

What does ProofReg register?

ProofReg registers the SHA-256 fingerprint of your exact file version. It is linked to a registration time and a verifiable record on the public XRP Ledger. Your file stays on your device.

What can I demonstrate with it?

You can later verify that the exact same file version belonged to your registration and that you already had this version on that date. A changed file gets a different fingerprint and will not match.

What is technically immutable?

Once the ProofReg transaction is in a validated XRP Ledger, that ledger record is final and cannot be quietly altered afterwards. This makes the registered fingerprint and ledger time independently verifiable.

Is the evidence indisputable?

The validated ledger record is technically immutable. Legal conclusions about identity, authorship or rights can still be disputed and are assessed alongside other evidence. ProofReg therefore gives you strong, verifiable evidence of the exact version and registration time — not an automatic ruling on ownership or authorship.

Does one registration prove that I am the creator?

One registration mainly shows which specific version you had at a particular time. Also register your first sketch, source files and important intermediate versions. This builds a coherent creation trail that supports your account of development and authorship much more strongly.

How do I build the strongest evidence set?

Start simply with the file you want to share now. Then register the first developed version, source files, decisive intermediate versions, exports and final sharing or handover version. Keep the originals unchanged alongside your certificates.

Does my confidential file leave my computer?

No. ProofReg calculates the SHA-256 fingerprint locally in your browser. Only the digital fingerprint is registered through ProofReg; the contents of your file are not sent.

How do I verify the evidence later?

Choose the original file again in Verify. Your browser recalculates the SHA-256 fingerprint locally and compares it with the registered fingerprint, registration time and ledger record.
